Brief Description:
ParaReading will provide paraeducators training in scientifically based reading instruction to increase their ability to assist teachers with the instruction of students who are at risk in reading and spelling.
The parareading curriculum is based on the National Reading Panel's key instructional recommendations. The essential reading skill components-phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension-are presented with an instructional design that establishes a strong basis for knowledge, application, and implementation of these five comprehensive elements.
A knowledgeable paraeducator has the potential to strengthen any elementary classroom's reading program.
