This National Educational Technology Plan, published by USDE, provides the current status of educational technology, examines how technology and NCLB can help improve academic achievement, as well as, provides seven recommendations that emphasize the elements needed to create an effective local education technology plan. This 2004 version of the National Educational Technology Plan is called "Toward A New Golden Age In American Education--How the Internet, the Law and Today's Students Are Revolutionizing Expectations." The seven recommendations that emphasize the elements needed to create an effective local education technology plan included in the National Educational Technology Plan are: (1) Strength Leadership; (2) Consider Innovative Budgeting; (3) Improve Teacher Training; (4) Support Virtual Training and E-Schools; (5) Encourage Broadband Access; (6) Move Toward Digital Content; and (7) Intregate Data Systems For more information or to read the National Education Technology Plan 2004, click on the URL link below.
