Region 8 Lead for After School Programs, Ventura County Office of Education

Marcella Klein Williams is the Regional Lead and Director of After School Programs for Ventura County Office of Education. She contributed to California After School Network’s California After-School Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool: Supporting Continuous Improvement for Quality After-School Programs and Campaign for Quality: Promising Practices from California's After-School Programs." With her team she lead an effort to refine and document practices from the field to develop aligned systems, share leadership, and build capacity to provide high quality after school programs that contribute to student achievement. This work is published in EDGE Up: Building the Foundation for a Successful After School Program. The regional lead team provides technical assistance to a field that serves over 21,000 children across 250 school sites in over 50 districts and four counties in Southern California. Marcella has served in education as a credentialed teacher and more recently as a school administrator for close to 20 years.
