Jeff Davis
Program Coordinator, California Afterschool Network
Jeff Davis began his career in education in 1999 with Americorps “Project Scholars” reading advancement and “Cool School” after-school programs. While studying Psychology at Sonoma State University Jeff worked in the SSU children’s school as an Assistant Pre-school teacher. After graduating Sonoma State University Jeff became Program Manager of Mountain Mill House Outdoor Center where he designed and coordinated Outdoor Science, ropes/challenge, Summer Camp and Opportunity Camp programs for inner city youth. In the four years prior to joining the Afterschool Network, Jeff served as Program Coordinator and Lead Teacher for Acorn Soupe; a Napa and Sonoma County based K-12 Outdoor Science organization where he designed K-12 lesson plans tied to state content standards, oversaw program implementation and delivery, and directed staff development. Mr. Davis also has extensive experience coordinating and facilitating Teambuilding and Leadership training programs for youth and adults. As coordinator of the California Afterschool Network Jeff has coordinated multiple efforts including the development of the California Afterschool Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool and the Network statewide Peer-to-Peer Mentoring project.
Mr. Davis is committed to providing relevant training opportunities to youth-workers. As Coordinator of the California Afterschool Network, Mr. Davis provides training in youth development, science education, teambuilding and leadership development, as well as training on after school program assessment and planning for continuous program improvement. Mr. Davis is currently a trainer for the National Partnership for After School Science (NPASS). As part of this effort, he works with 15 Sacramento area sites to offer training and technical assistance for after school program staff to implement inquiry-based STEM opportunities. Mr. Davis is also an endorsed trainer for the California School Age Consortium.
