Project Manager,e-Learning for Educators Consortium, Alabama Public Television
Lynne Meeks directs the e-Learning for Educators Consortium at Alabama Public Television. The Consortium is a continuation of eLearning for Educators (eFE), a grant funded, collaborative effort among state departments of education, public television stations and other organizations aimed at delivering effective, online professional development (OPD) for teachers free or at very low cost. Since it was established in 2006, more than 50,000 teachers have enrolled in high quality OPD courses through eFE. Presently, the Consortium – a post-grant continuation of eFE—promotes and facilitates free, open sharing of resources among member states and is currently assisting new member states in establishing a sustainable, nimble, state-run systems of OPD to improve teaching and learning. Before joining APTV, Lynne was a classroom teacher, school administrator and district program specialist in Alabama and Georgia schools. She holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies and is an active volunteer and board member in community arts organizations.
