This ECS policy brief discusses the variations among states in implementation and oversight of restructuring as a response to schools failing uncder NCLB. Of the 13 states in which schools have reached their final year of school improvement in 2004- 05, when restructuring is required, some SEAs monitored the process closely, while others provided little oversight of districts’ implementation plans. Includes easy-to-read charts.
