Abstract (written by WestEd)
Breakthrough High Schools features 12 schools with high minority, high poverty populations that have achieved significant gains in student performance, as well as graduation and college admission rates. In analyzing these schools that may serve as models for others, this resource identifies common factors and supplies ideas for high school principals as they work to raise student achievement, prevent dropouts, increase graduation rates, and prepare students for postsecondary education.
