A coherent, connected set of mathematics professional development videocase materials, called Learning and Teaching Linear Functions, have been created for these purposes. We also provide support for these materials to promote teacher learning. The use of cases in professional development can enable teachers to reflect upon mathematical ideas and student thinking and learning of mathematics. Videocases offer the opportunity to improve teachers' understanding of the ideas involved in teaching and learning linear functions and their ability to interpret classroom practice.
