| This webinar will summarize work being done by the Center on Instruction on school- and state-level implementation of RTI. Greg Roberts, Director of the Center on Instruction, Special Education Strand (COI-SPED), will provide a brief overview of the Center on Instruction’s RTI-related projects. Saro Mohammed, Research Associate at COI-SPED, will describe the information gathered to date from a collaborative project with teams from regional Comprehensive Centers and state educational agencies regarding the implementation of RTI at the state level. Kathryn Tackett, Research Associate at COI-SPED, will discuss how RTI is being implemented in different content areas at five elementary and middle schools around the country. She will describe how these five schools began implementing RTI, how interventions are provided, the role RTI plays in special education eligibility decisions, and the perceived challenges and benefits of implementing RTI. |
Response to Intervention Theme -- Spring 2008
Response to Intervention is a promising practice, but many are asking, “How do we get there?” Although the “RTI Triangle” is now a familiar concept, many schools and districts are still looking for the practical process steps necessary to implement successful models. During May and June, SchoolsMovingUp will highlight the models, resources and “lessons learned” from states and schools that have been at the forefront in implementation through a series of webinars. These webinars will highlight specific implementation practices and will provide essential resources to schools and districts as they move forward with their scale-up efforts.
