| Learn about increased funding flexibility to help achieve district educational goals through this interactive presentation with Jay Iman, Grant Manager, and Jane Goetz, Director of Curriculum and Professional Development, both from the Seattle Public Schools. Participants will develop an enhanced understanding of the No Child Left Behind Act's Local Flex provision that will help to inform decision-making, especially at the district level. |
There is often talk about how prescriptive the No Child Left Behind Act can be. This interactive presentation will provide practical information on the Local Flex provision available to districts interested in maximum funding flexibility through consolidation of certain local-level federal funds they already receive to fulfill any educational purposes under the Elementary and Secondary Schools Act, reauthorized in 2001 as the No Child Left Behind Act.
The flexibility goes beyond that provided with Ed Flex, transferability, and the Rural Education Achievement Program.
During this online event, Iman and Goetz will share Seattle's experience, including the decision-making process, benefits, challenges, and progress of the district to date as they complete their first full year utilizing the Local Flex provision to accomplish district educational goals to ensure that all children succeed.
